Frequently Asked Questions

What species do you treat?

We care for dogs and cats at this time. We see patients up to 120 lbs that can be safely and gently treated in your home.

We do not see aggressive pets but understand that age and disease can change your pet’s disposition and reactivity. Please reach out if you have any questions.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Please call (484) 938-8365 or email avalonveterinaryhospice@gmail.com as soon as you know you need to change your appointment time. This allows us to help another family in need. We understand that situations change and only apply a cancellation/travel fee if cancellations are made within an hour of your appointment time.

If your pet passes away prior to your appointment with us please let us know so we can help you arrange aftercare if needed.

Where do you travel?

We schedule appointments in a 30 mile radius of Douglassville, Pennsylvania. This includes portions of Montgomery, Berks, Chester, Bucks and Lehigh Counties. If you live in outlying areas please know that we will do our best to help but our availability may be limited and a travel fee may apply.

What is included?

All appointments include travel, our veterinarian’s undivided time and attention, medications and booking support. Aftercare services are in addition to appointment fees.

In-Home Euthanasia visits include a clay pawprint that can be personalized with your pet’s name or nickname. We can also clip a lock of fur for you to keep if you choose.

Private Cremation includes a beautifully carved rosewood urn and a brass nameplate with your pet’s name engraved. Your pet’s urn will be hand delivered back to your veterinary clinic. If you request shipping via UPS to your home there is no added fee and a signature release is required.

If you prefer a different urn, we are able to arrange a cherrywood photo urn, blue metal urn or scattering tube at no cost.

Additional clay pawprints and noseprints, as well as ink prints are available for a nominal fee. We work with our local pet crematory Abbey Glen in Quakertown to create memorial items as requested.

We are always happy to confirm the total cost of services prior to booking.
